
Jonathan Shaw is Parliamentary Under Secretary in the Commons, the Minister for Disabled People, and a minister within the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Some of the areas Jonathan is responsible for involve disability legislation, disability rights and independent living funds.

The head of the Office for Disability Issues is Stephen Martin.
Stephen is also the Director for Disabled People and Carers at the Department for Work and Pensions.
The Office for Disability Issuse is overseen by the ODI Board of Management which is made up of officials from The Department for Work and Pensions, Department for Education and Skills, Department of Health, Department for Transport, Department for Communities and Local Government, Department for Trade and Industry and HM Treasury.
The board reports to the Improving the Life Chances of Disabled People Ministerial Group which is chaired by Anne McGuire.
The ministerial group leads on the cross-government strategy for improving the life chances of disabled people.
The group is responsible for ensuring all government departments are accountable for the change process.

The team is made up of a mix of civil servants and people on secondment from outside government.
It is important to have a mix of skills and experience in the Office and continue to look for the right people for the right jobs: including the recruitment of disabled people.
