
Equality 2025’s first regional meeting
Equality 2025 held its first regional meeting in Plymouth on 31 January 2008. The meeting was well attended by local disabled people, and disabled peoples' organisations.
Topics discussed included
- How could social services and care packages/ individual budgets better help disabled people to get into work?
- How could Health Services and GP surgeries better help disabled people to get into work? What about employment advisors in GP surgeries?
- What needs to change to enable you and/or other disabled people to live more independently?
- How can we engage with the widest possible range of disabled people?
- What can we advise government to do about the negative image of disabled people?
- Why is it important?
- What are the key messages you want us to take back to government?
