Background - Budget setting

Budgets set at the start of projects should include consideration of how to communicate with all of the target audience

It is important to cost projects accurately and to view reaching disabled people as a core part of what you do as a government communicator - not as an extra add-on or afterthought.

It will be helpful to know something about the costs of alternative formats in your particular discipline, for example producing publications in easyread or on audiotape or generating DVDs with subtitles, sign language interpretation and audio description.
