Older People
The Government's Independent Living Strategy has identified a need to increase choice and control for older disabled people in all areas of their life.
ODI has produced a new website for policy-makers and professionals in commissioning roles. This site explains what we mean by independent living and person-centred services.
www.independentlivingresource.org.uk
Visitors will be able to learn about the principles of independent living and how to create services based on them.
The website includes practical tips on how to plan, commission and provide appropriate support for older people.

This new resource was developed by the Office for Disability Issues working with the Centre for Policy on Ageing and the National Development Team for Inclusion.
